Lunch and Conversation
The first Lunch and Conversation event, held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, was a great success! Students enjoyed lunch while participating in various and engaging conversations. Lunch and Conversation events will be held every Wednesday at noon.
Guest Speaker: Winnipeg Police Service
On Wednesday, August 10, 2016 during the lunch break, Patrol Sargent Phil Penner conducted a question and answer session at EESE. He provided clear, detailed, and interesting answers to all of our questions about law and policing in Winnipeg. A representative of the Winnipeg Police Service speaks to EESE students every session.
Student-led Brown Bag Lunch Event: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Ana
On Friday, August 5, 2016, Ana Silva explained to us about the history and benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a martial art that is used for self- defense and which promotes respect, confidence and fitness. Then she taught us how to carry out some basic moves.
Happy Friday Sing-Along July 2016
EESE students Vincent and Olena (along with her daughter) performed songs from their home countries, sung in their native languages. What a treat it was to witness such beautiful and heartfelt performances! It is said, "The world's most famous and popular language is music." We happen to agree!

Valentine's Day 2016
Another Valentine's Day, another reason to wear love-themed idiom costumes. This year's idioms included: puppy love, love note, love triangle, sealed with a kiss, wear your heart on your sleeve, lovebug, love nest and heart to heart.

EESE's 2nd annual Holiday Sing-Along took place on Friday, Dec. 11th. Staff and students gathered to sing popular holiday music.

Happy Friday Sing-Along and Shannon's Birthday Celebration
EESE staff and students gathered once again to sing songs over lunch. This Friday also happened to be Shannon's birthday. We serenaded her with.. you guessed it.. Happy Birthday!


Guest Speaker July 2015
Sunny came to Canada from Korea in 2006. On July 27, she spoke to students about the challenges she overcame to achieve success in Canada.

Valentine's Day 2015
Because we had so much fun at Halloween, EESE staff dedcided to dress up again, but as idioms that represent Valentine's Day. Idioms included (in no order): Heart skip a beat, lovebirds, double date, cold-hearted, wear my heart on my sleeve, puppy love, tie the knot, heartbreaker, apple of my eye, change of heart, and heart of gold.
Happy Friday Sing-Along
Students and staff enjoy singing a variety of Spanish and North American songs led by EESE student and musician, Victor Bustamante, and EESE Head Facilitator, Hilda Bergen. Happy Friday events will be held regularly in upcoming sessions.

Holiday Sing-Along December 2014
To get in the holiday spirit, students and staff came together to sing popular holiday songs, such as Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Silent Night. Hilda led the festivities with her guitar and beautiful voice.
